Nancy H. Smith, MA, Executive Director

Ms. Smith has served as Executive Director of the Health Advancement Collaborative of Central New York since October, 2006. 

Prior to joining the Collaborative, Ms. Smith was an independent consultant specializing in health policy, service and research in Upstate New York. From 1996 to 2002, she served as deputy director of the Institute on Aging at the University of Pennsylvania where she directed aging research and educational programming and developed a system-wide geriatric clinical service group across five hospitals. Prior to Penn, Ms. Smith served as director of the Executive Office of the American College of Physicians, as lead Medicare policy analyst to the late Senator John Heinz (Minority Chair of the Senate Aging Committee), and as long-term care policy analyst for the House Committee on Aging. She also held policy and planning positions with the U. S. Veterans Administration, local planning commissions, and the State of Vermont.
