Southern Tier and Central New York HealthLink
Awarded $7.8 Million Grant
Partnership to Build Clinical Information Super-Highway
for the Electronic Exchange of Patient Information
Governor David A. Paterson announced the award of $7.8 million to Southern Tier and Central New York HealthLink to build a secure electronic clinical exchange that will allow physicians, patients, hospitals, pharmacies, and labs to exchange patient information electronically across seven counties in the Southern Tier and Central New York regions.
The project is a partnership between the Greater Binghamton-based Southern Tier HealthLink (STHL) and Syracuse-based Health Advancement Collaborative of Central New York (HAC-CNY).

HAC-CNY Brings Business Leaders, Health Providers, Insurers, and Consumers Together for A Unique Region-Wide Forum
“An Inside Look at the Economics of Health Care: What are the Drivers & Answers to Central New York’s Rising Costs?”
The Health Care Advancement Collaborative of Central New York (HAC-CNY) today announced its sponsorship of a seminar on the economics of health care in Central New York.
The forum will provide the latest information on the major drivers of health care costs nationally and in Central New York; how the health care dollar is managed within and across insurer, provider, and employer sectors; and local efforts to control rising costs while maintaining high-quality care.
The seminar will be held Thursday, March 27, at the Anheuser-Busch Plant in Baldwinsville, N.Y. Registration and breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. The program will begin at 8 a.m. and conclude by noon. The early registration fee is $25; after March 21, registration is $35. Regional Stakeholder Collaborative Takes on Health Care Quality, Access & Cost Issues
Announces Plans for a Regional Electronic Clinical Information System
The Health Care Advancement Collaborative of Central New York (HAC-CNY) announced its plans to develop a clinical information network linking hospitals, physician practices, laboratories, imaging clinics, and pharmacies across Central New York.
The Electronic Central New York Health Initiative (eCentral) will allow physicians to access medical information on their patients, such as lab test results, radiology test results and images, and prior treatments from other hospitals and physician offices where patients have been treated.
